A2: Authentic Youth Engagement: "Nothing About Us, Without Us!"

A common saying among advocates with lived experience in foster care is, "Nothing About Us, Without Us!" Join members of the Indiana Youth Advisory Board for a panel discussion on the benefits of authentic youth engagement to youth and adults, as well as how authentic youth engagement demonstrates a commitment to an inclusive process geared toward advancing equitable outcomes. Using the Jim Casey Initiative Model, participants will learn how to implement the four components of authentic youth engagement: Youth Adult Partnerships, Preparation, Opportunity, and Support. Hear Indiana Youth Advisory Board Members' experience and recommendations on implementing this philosophical cornerstone.
