Debra Corn Foster Care is a licensed child placing agency (LCPA) founded in 1986.  Our mission is to recruit, train, license, and manage foster homes in Indiana for the care of children by providing the least restrictive, most family-like setting available to children who are referred to our agency. Our goal is to engage and strengthen Indiana foster children to supporting their journey to reconciliation and recovery from abusive and/or neglectful environments. We provide the best service to children and foster parents through education, resource building and case management services. Debra Corn Foster Care is currently hiring for 4 BSW/MSW Case Management positions. One in Marion, Indiana (which covers the northern half of the state), one in Bloomfield, IN (which covers the south/central part of the state) and two in Winslow, Indiana (which covers the southern counties of Indiana).

Case Manager Job Description Summary

A Debra Corn Foster Care Case Manager works closely with foster homes and foster children to provide education and support. Case Managers, along with the child’s team, incorporates a treatment plan for each child. These goals are used to encourage growth and therapeutic change for the child. Case Managers attend Child and Family Team Meetings with the Department of Child Services, school meetings and court proceedings. Documentation is submitted on a monthly basis to DCS with progress for the children. 

Candidate Qualifications:  In addition to having a Bachelor Degree in Social Work or a related field, a Case Manager should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a hard worker with a passion for foster children.  Being able to actively problem solve, having good communication skills and ability to present professional written work is necessary.   

Salary range:  Begins at 35,600 with no experience and raises based on experience level.

Travel expectations with job: At each Regional office, there are foster homes in many counties.  DCFC has worked hard to try to ensure case managers are managing homes in close proximity to their own homes for less travel.  DCFC also has agency vehicles to be used for work travel. 

Work Hours: The Debra Corn Foster Care office is open from 8am to 4:30pm.  However, case managers work on an adjusted schedule in order to conduct visits after school/work hours with clients.  This is a salaried, 40 hour per week position.
