Open Arms Family and Educational Service’s mission is to exalt the Lord by serving and sharing Christ, through meeting the needs of others. Open Arms operates a licensed Open-Residential (Group Home) for females 12-18 years of age, with intention of opening a program for males ages 10-15 years of age in near future. Open Arms is also a Licensed Child Placing Agency and trains and license foster parents and provides case management services to those foster homes after they are licensed.

Case Manager Job Description

Salary range: starting $28,000-$30,000

Start date: expected position available in June/July 2020

License: Can start with pending temporary license application

Job Description:  Providing case management to foster homes and youth placed in those homes. Attendance at court hearings, child and family team meetings, routine visits to foster home to check on child and provide support services to foster family. Completing required documentation, monthly reports and updates to the placing agency. 

Travel expectations with job: Foster homes are located approximately 1 hour surrounding Greene County. Job requires frequent travel to these foster homes. Also, travel to court hearings and Child and Family Team Meetings. A company vehicle and gas card is available for this travel. 

Work Hours: Office Hours are M-F 8-4:30, however, applicants must have a flexible schedule to be able to accommodate needs of families and youth.  Visits during the school year will often be after 3pm.  Case Manager may flex their time and come in later, or take time off on another day to accommodate these situations. 

Candidate Qualifications:  Bachelor degree in Social work or related field. Must have good oral and written communication skills.  Must be reliable and flexible.  Must be willing to work as part of a team. 

Residential Therapist Job Description

Salary range: $36,400 for a therapist without licensure, and could increase once licensure is achieved

Start date: anticipated opening in June/July 2020. 

License: Can start with pending temporary license application

Job Description: Residential Therapist will be assigned to the newly opening Male Open Residential Program. Therapist will be responsible for having clinical oversight of program as well as providing Individual, Group and Family therapies to residents within the program.  Therapist will provide input on treatment goals, long term recommendations and needs of youth. Therapist also communicates with staff members and provides insights or trainings as necessary to help staff understand needs of the youth. 

Travel expectations with job: No routine travel. Work will be primarily within the facility in Greene County IN. 

Work Hours: A set schedule can be established as appropriate to meet needs of Residential Program. Some flexibility can be allowed as long as needs of program are met. Due to youth being in school, some evening hours are anticipated. 

Candidate Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field. Knowledge or experience in Child welfare is preferred. Must have good oral and written communication skills and be willing to work as part of a team.
