Lutheran Child and Family Services, in collaboration with Community Health Network-Behavioral Health Services, provides trauma-informed care in our secure residential facility, Lutherwood.  Lutherwood is a licensed Psychiatric Treatment Facility that specializes in the care and treatment of children (ages 6-21) who exhibit mental health, behavioral and/or emotional impairments primarily due to their trauma history.  Lutherwood employs a strength-based approach to treatment by highly trained staff, utilizing a variety of evidenced-based practices.  Our unique services include TF-CBT, Seven Challenges, Moral Reconation Therapy, Seeking Safety, Art therapy, Diagnostic and Evaluation services, IMPACT program for teen survivors of sex trafficking, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Youth Support Specialist

Job Description:

  • To provide direct resident care providing a safe and therapeutic environment through treatment plan implementation, using individual and group instruction in activities of daily living. 
  • To act as an advocate, educator, mentor and role model for Lutheran Child and Family Services. 
  • Support and implement the policy and philosophy of the program and the Agency

Skills

  • Knowledge of readiness to learn about Trauma-Informed care and implement best practices
  • Desire to work with troubled children
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and set limits in working with residents
  • Ability to utilize a strength-based perspective and solution-focused model with working with residents and their families
  • Assist residents with daily living skills as needed and participate in daily activities
  • Participate in aggressive behavior management appropriate to the population served
  • Ability to implement Individual Crisis Management Plans with residents appropriately

Salary range: $12.60 - 19.69

Life Skills Clinician

Job Description: The Life Skills Clinician monitors and provides skills training and development services to youth.

  • Skills:
    • Must have interpersonal skills including motivation, flexibility, persistence, patience, and effective communication skills.
    • You will need to be able to relate in a non-judgmental and culturally competent manner while having the knowledge of behavioral health competencies specific to the population being served.
    • The operation of a vehicle is mandatory and you must be able to meet the driving policy.

Salary range: $17.50 starting pay rate
