Offering Advice/Information/Education with Permission
There are times when offering advice, education, and information is appropriate. For certain caregivers this is an essential part of their role/job. There are ways to offer advice/education/information in the SPIRIT of MI that is more effective and avoids the “Righting Reflex”. It also supports the autonomy of the client. In this session we will discuss when it might be appropriate to offer advice/education/information. We will discuss the Ask-Provide-Ask method. We will discuss where in the conversation about change it might be useful (4 Processes). This session will be a combination of concept, discussion, and practice.
Space is limited so please sign up quickly!
