Nominations

OVERVIEW

IARCA will present three awards at this year's conference. Each awardee will receive a $500 stipend in recogniztion of their exemplary service:

Each awardee is selected from a pool of people nominated by IARCA member agencies or staff or board members of those agencies.

NOMINEE ELIGIBILITY

Each award has specific criteria listed below. Additionally, all nominees must be employed by, serve as a board member of, or for the Graham award recently reitred from an agency which is a full or affiliate IARCA member in good standing.

NOMINATION PROCESS

 Please contact Ann Davis (adavis@iarca.org) with any questions. Please submit nominations to iarca@iarca.org

The nomination be in writing and follow this format:

  1. Name of the person nominated.
  2. The award for which they are being nominated (the Cathy Graham Life of Service Award, the Robert Pollitt Excellence in Service Award, or the Bobby Jones Staff Training & Development Award)
  3. Your name and contact information.
  4. Name of the agency with whom the nominee is affiliated.
  5. Narrative: Written narrative giving reasons for nomination. Please make sure the narrative addresses the substantive criteria identified in the relevant award description. Substantive criteria has been marked with an *. The narrative should not exceed one type-written, single-spaced page.
  6. Up to two letters of endorsement from outside agencies are not required but may be included or submitted separately.

CRITERIA FOR CATHY GRAHAM LIFE OF SERVICE AWARD

  1. A person who is employed by, serves as a board member of, or is recently retired from an agency which is a full or affiliate IARCA member in good standing.
  2. A person who has worked in the child welfare, child services, or child wellbeing communities for, cumulatively, at least 25 years.
  3. A person who demonstrates a deep commitment to the health and welfare of youth and families and who has made significant contributions to advancing the field.*
  4. A person who champions a high level of excellence in the care and treatment of children and families.*
  5. A person whose work and professional conduct set a high standard of performance for others in the field of children and family services; who presents an outstanding image to the community and reflects quality of services to youth and families.*
  6. A person who is an advocate for youth and families and quality care.*

In your narrative, please explain how your nominee fulfills criteria 3-6 above.

CRITERIA FOR ROBERT POLLITT EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE AWARD

  1. A person who is employed by any agency which is a full IARCA member in good standing, has been affiliated with the agency for at least two years, and active in the field of child and family welfare for at least five years.
  2. A person who demonstrates a deep concern for the health and welfare of youth and families.*
  3. A person who has a commitment to exceptional services to youth and families.*
  4. A person whose work and professional conduct set a high standard of performance for others in the field of child and family welfare; who presents an outstanding image to the community and reflects quality of services to youth and families.*
  5. A person who is an advocate for youth and families and quality care.*

In your narrative, please explain how your nominee fulfills criteria 3-5 above.

CRITERIA FOR BOBBY JONES STAFF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT AWARD

  1. A person who is employed by any agency which is a full or affiliate IARCA member in good standing, has been affiliated with the agency for at least five years, and has been active in the field of children and family services for at least ten years.
  2. A person who is committed to professional growth and continuing education, as well as the advancement of diversity and leadership in the children and family services field.*
  3. A person who understands the importance of meaningful interactions with clients and staff and cultivates a culturally competent and positive treatment environment.*
  4. A person who exhibits exemplary leadership skills, adherence to ethical standards and dedication to excellence in care, serving as a role model or mentor to others in the field.*
